Trip Downtown

We have taken a few trips Downtown Portland now and we love it! It is such a cool place. There are old European style buildings on every corner. And yes, it is an older city so it is dirty in places and yes, there are lots of people smoking, unlike good old Utah. But it is still absolutely beautiful here with all the green trees and the ocean. I have always loved diversity and Portland Maine is where diversity is at it's peak. It is so interesting to see all the different cultures blend together in Maine. Here are a few pictures:

This is in front of an art market. There were so many cool paintings that we saw. But all were extremely overpriced in my opinion.

Kelton was sleeping. He is the cutest!
Kelton Alert: My little sweet baby has started to grab onto toys and entertain himself with them. He likes to put them in his mouth and everything else that is within his reach for that matter. We just place a bunch of toys by his sides and he finds them with his hands and then slowly and a little awkwardly brings them in front of him until they end up in this mouth. Such an adorable action to see! He also has started to suck on his bottom lip and it makes a clicking, almost chewing sound. It's another way that he entertains himself. Kelton also loves reading books. Or rather when Cameron or I read them to him. And we know that he loves it because he will either pay very close attention to the pages of the books, or will talk as we are reading, or will just wiggle his limbs in excitement.

Here, he is in action of putting the toy in his mouth.
We also do lots of belly-time. Kelton has gotten so good at holding his head up. He could always hold it up, but now he can do it for a much longer time period.

And there is always that fist that tastes oh sooooo good!

We are in Maine!

We are finally in Maine. It took us four days to get to Vermont where we stayed for a few days with my Mom and then another three and a half hours of driving to get to Portland Maine. We are so excited to be here. The weather is a lot more humid but it is a lot cooler too. We have learned that if we open our windows and the back sliding door then our apartment stays cool throughout the day. There are no air conditioners here because it is cold most of the year, so it took us a day of experimenting to figure out what works best for staying cool inside. We have also been exploring the downtown area of Portland and it has been great! There are so many different shops and restaurants. But my favorite is all the museums and art supply stores. It makes me feel so at home with all the art around and inspires me to make some of my own. I have most of my art supplies here with me so maybe I can use it in the future.

The drive across the country was long, but Kelton did very well. He mostly slept or stayed awake and cooed. He did have a few cranky times the last two days, but I don't blame him, we all were getting tired of being in the car and the drive. He slept through the night at all three hotels that we stayed, which I am very grateful for. He also stayed on the schedule even with all the time changes. Kelton is just awesome like that!

When we got to Vermont my mom was super excited to meet him. And I was happy that she could finally hold and kiss him. It was sweet to see them together.

Kelton alert: My little baby is three months today! He is so much fun! He is making all sorts of sounds and noises now. Yesterday, Cameron and I were unpacking our things and listening to The Monkees. Cameron grew up listening to them so he knows all of the lyrics. He would sing the songs to Kelton. That quickly became Kelton's favorite activity of the day. My little baby would wiggle his arms and legs in excitement and make sounds of joy. It is always so special to me to see my husband bond with my baby. Kelton has also learned to stick his tong out. And he is so cute when he does it!
These three months have gone by so fast. I can hardly believe that Kelton is already so big. I love him so very much!

We haven't really had time to take any pictures throughout our trip or while in Maine, but here are a couple of my precious baby taking his nap today. He has already gotten used to the new place and has no problems taking his naps. I am a lucky Mama!

I also want to include a picture of Kelton with Grandma and Grandpa McCombs that was taken a few days before we left Utah.

Four Year Anniversary.

We have been married for four years now. It sure doesn't feel like it though. They were wonderful four years filled with so many great memories. Our favorite memory from the time of our marriage is our trip to Europe to visit my family. But there are many others like just talking until really late, making each other laugh uncontrollably, finding out that we were expecting, cooking together, going hiking and camping and others. And it all flew by so fast that it's hard to believe that it has been four years! This just all means that the time in Maine will fly by very fast and Cameron will be done with schooling before we know it. But what makes me a little sad is how fast my baby boy is growing and he will continue to grow. I wish I could just pause time and keep him in his baby stage for longer. But we are having so much fun with our Kelton! He loves to smile and coo which brings such joy into our lives!
Yesterday, for our anniversary we decided to go out and eat some tasty steak. We love steak! Plus it keeps us full for many hours after we eat. Here are some pictures:
Cameron with Kelton. Doesn't he look cute with that crab shirt on?

Me and Kelton.

Steak! Yummy!

Kelton at Texas Roadhouse. He was so content to just sit there while Mommy and Daddy enjoyed their dinner. Such a lovely boy! Oh and check out that drool job. He is just like his Daddy.
We are moving to Maine in 6 days! Packing is coming along. We are finally starting to see the progress. But there is still a lot to do.

We are moving!

It is just a few days before we make our big move to Maine. We are excited and scared and happy and sad all at the same time. It is hard to believe how fast the last few months have flown by. Since Kelton was born in May, it just seems like life never slowed down. What was I thinking? It just pick up in full gear and now we are as busy as ever. These days we pack, work, have friends over to say goodbyes, and then we pack some more, have family over, pack, take care of our adorable son of course, go to church, change diapers, and pack again. The most exciting count down has been counting how many shifts Cameron has left of his work. As of today that is 4. We are all tired of him working nights and will be very happy to have our Husband and Daddy home.

Kelton alert: He is starting to put his hands together. It is the cutest thing ever!

This is the best smile that we were able to get of Kelton today. Every time we pull  out the camera he just stares at it with such interest and stops smiling.
